Privacy policy

When you enquire with Pro Tint Adelaide, we only collect what we need to quote your car and reply to you. This page covers what that is, why we hold it, and how to ask us to change or remove it.

What this policy covers

This privacy policy explains how Pro Tint Adelaide handles the personal information you share with us when you enquire about window tinting, request a quote, or book your car in at our Elizabeth Downs workshop. It applies to this website and to the enquiries that reach us through it.

We are a small, family-owned business, so your details go straight to Troy and Maybellene, not a call centre. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This page is written in plain language to help you understand what we do with your details, and it is a general explanation rather than legal advice.

Information we collect

When you request a quote, ask about a booking, or send us a message, we collect the details you choose to give us. In most cases that is your name, email address, and phone number, information about your vehicle such as its make, model, and year, and anything you write in the message or notes field.

We only ask for what we need to quote your car accurately and get back to you. You do not have to provide your details to browse the site, and we do not collect payment card numbers through this website. There is no online shop or checkout here, so any deposit or payment is arranged with us directly.

How we use your information

We use the information you provide to reply to your enquiry, prepare a personalised quote, arrange a time to tint your car, and keep you updated about the work. If you ask us a question, we use your contact details to answer it and to follow up where that helps get the job done.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not rent or trade it to third parties for their own marketing. We will only use your details for a purpose you would reasonably expect, or one we have told you about.

Who we share information with

To run this website and answer enquiries, we rely on a small number of trusted service providers. These include our website hosting provider, the email service we use to receive and reply to messages, and the embedded map that helps you find the workshop. They only handle your information so that we can operate the site and respond to you.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it. Where a provider stores or processes data overseas, we take reasonable steps to make sure your information is handled with appropriate care.

Cookies and analytics

This website uses cookies and similar technologies to help the site work, and analytics to understand, in aggregate, how visitors use it. Analytics reaches us only as aggregate statistics, so it helps us improve the pages and fix problems without identifying you.

You can set your browser to refuse cookies or to warn you when a site sets one, and you can opt out of analytics measurement using the tools your browser provides. Some parts of the site may not work as smoothly if you turn cookies off.

How long we keep your information

We keep enquiry and booking records for as long as we need them to provide our services, to hold a reasonable history of the work we have done, and to meet our record-keeping obligations, including the lifetime warranty we record against your car. When we no longer need your information, we take reasonable steps to delete it or to remove the details that identify you.

Access, corrections, and privacy requests

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, or ask us to delete it. To make a request, or if you have a question or a concern about how we handle your information, email us at protint@bigpond.com and we will respond as soon as we can.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can raise the matter with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in how we work or in the law. The current version always lives on this page, and the date at the top shows when it was last reviewed.
